A Few Traveler Comments

... "Wow" ... the first day on tour in Thailand, we found ourselves going up the Chao Phraya River in a long-tail boat early in the morning, heading to the Temple of Dawn, Grand Palace, famous Emerald Budda, former Teak Palace, Giant Swing and our daily 'free-style free-time' to explore more of Bangkok 'on-our-own' ...

... Each morning at 6am I waded into the warm, clear water of the Gulf of Thailand on Koh Samui Island watching the sun come up over the horizon ... I will never forget those mornings ...

...  Sao paper, Lao coffee, Lao whiskey, Lap Mu, sticky rice, nam-doc-mai mangos, durian, 32 temples, 300+ monks, and the mighty Mekong River ... all found in Luang Prabang, Laos ...

...  the first comment Lori made seeing the ancient Angkor Wat temples near Siem Reap, Cambodia was 'amazing - simply amazing' ... once part of the majestic Khmer empire where 1 million people lived ... I wonder what life was like then ...

...  the morning market in Cholon, Saigon-HCMC revealed the early start of each day for these Vietnamese people ... everything from exotic fruit to noddles, flopping fish, vegetables, local donuts and hanging meat being displayed and quickly sold ...

...  our tour guide Seo Yee explained that even though Kipling wrote' the golden mystery' and the 'winking wonder' when referring to the famous Shwedagon Pagoda, he had never visited Myanmar-Burma ...

...  I only wish we had more than 10 days to spend with the Roads2 Travel Company ... this travel adventure company has a definite 'boutique' style.  With only 10 of us, we had the ability to go to places that larger groups would never see ... and places 'known-only-by-locals' ...
